Our services are tailored to the
client, not the other way around.
For many clients, a particular
concern when evaluating whether involve an external
third party in a particular project, is the potential
for diminished or diluted control. The loss of control
on a project can negatively impact quality, costs and
the schedule. Mark Thompson, the founder of Èpeus,
realized the perceived threat often associated with
third parties and developed the “Out-Tasking”
approach that Èpeus employs on every project, a stark
contrast to the traditional “Out-Sourcing” approach
utilized by our competitors. An outsourced contract,
normally subject to variation and change order
processes, limits the likelihood for project success
because of the built-in incentive to identify and argue
about changes.
‘Out-tasking’
operates on the basis that the client can realise
the benefit of our personnel’s expertise and knowledge
while maintaining control over schedule and cost. Since
the Èpeus team is involved in defining and planning, the
Èpeus team does not seek reasons for variations; it
remains solely committed to ensuring the client’s
scheduling and budgetary goals are met.
Assuring success on projects Èpeus
is involved in requires several elements, including
utilizing “Our Culture.” Equally important is placing a
strong emphasis on effective communication. A lack of
effective communication hinders the effective transfer
of knowledge. We aim to maximise knowledge transfer and
minimise misinterpretation by identifying and
establishing on-going contact points with all areas
within a client organisation that might be affected by a
particular project. Èpeus will never compromise the
emphasis placed on effective communication.
Our Structure

The Èpeus Group has a flat
structure, which enhances efficiency and speed of
response to both market conditions and client needs.
Currently, Èpeus operate as a group of companies
throughout the world. Our people are hand-picked and
trained to deliver what is required regardless of the
circumstance. Our structure also improves the ability to
disseminate information throughout the company,
enhancing cooperation and our collective abilities.
Furthermore, the Èpeus structure enables the ‘lessons
learned’ accumulated from one project to be transmitted
with everyone across the organisation which ultimately
benefits future clients and projects.
Our Culture
Our culture is people-centred and
represents what we strive for as an organisation. We
expect our team members to have unsurpassed technical
skills and to be passionate self starters who any task
required with a proactive and positive attitude. These
qualities enable us to optimise our solutions to meet
particular requirements.
We also emphasise professionalism
and integrity among our work force. We expect our our
team members to put the client’s needs, as expressed in
the contract, first. Our global reach requires our
diverse work force also to work within the strictest
ethical standards in regards to Èpeus, fellow workers,
suppliers, and even competitors.
While we encourage self-reliance,
our people do not operate in isolation. The tools for
communications within the organisation enable our people
to draw upon the “pool” of experience and lessons
learned on past projects, which improves results on an
on-going project.
Finally, we encourage our people –
who all derive from diverse backgrounds – to appreciate
that we are guests in the various countries in which we
find ourselves. We must respect local customs, while
bringing world class service to the projects located
there, in the collective pursuit of success.
